Senior Web Developer

‍Own the web platform at Saef, iterating alongside every release.‍

‍The role
Owners, boutiques, and partners will depend on what you build. As Senior Web Developer at Saef, you own the web platform and the cloud surface that iterates alongside every app release. You’ll work in lock step with the senior software engineer and the hardware team, and what you ship has to be demo-ready at all times. There is no layer of people between you and the work.

‍What you’ll do
• Design, build, and ship the web platform and its cloud-facing services end to end
• Iterate in parallel with app and hardware releases; if the app ships, the platform ships
• Build clean integrations with platform services and partner-facing functionality
• Make pragmatic architecture calls and help freeze a stable platform as the team scales
• Build with security and privacy as load-bearing structure; wearer data is sacred

‍What we’re looking for
• 5+ years shipping production web applications
• Proficiency with a modern web stack: TypeScript with React (or equivalent) on the front end, and a modern backend language such as Node, Python, or Go
• Solid cloud experience (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure) and comfort owning deployment and infrastructure
• Sound grasp of APIs, data modelling, and secure handling of sensitive data
• A bias toward shipping over debating, paired with sound engineering judgment
• Effective in a small, in-person, high-trust team

‍Nice to have
• Experience with platforms serving hardware or connected devices
• Exposure to luxury, premium, or trust-sensitive products
• Interest in real-time systems or event-driven architectures

‍Saef is building the new protection standard for luxury watches. Invisible, always-on hardware goes into the watch. A phone app tells the owner where it is and that it’s safe. We’re a small, senior team of engineers anddesigners that treats this as a system-level problem: hardware, software, security, and trust, all built together. We’re launching with select partners,with beta planned in 2027. We can demo a real working product at any stage of development. That’s not a tagline. It’s how we work.
