‍The role
A data breach at Saef doesn’t make the news for a day and blow over. It destroys the one thing we sell: trust. As Security Architect at Saef, you own security across the platform, the product, and the way the team works, from a strong software perspective. App, web, cloud, hardware data flows: if data moves, you are responsible for it moving safely. This is hands-on ownership, not an oversight function watching from the sidelines.

‍What you’ll do
• Own the security architecture across app, web, cloud, and device dataflows
• Define and enforce secure development practices the whole team can live by without slowing down
• Lead threat modelling, reviews, and testing; drive fixes to closure, not just to a ticket
• Protect wearer and owner data end to end, with privacy built in by design
• Prepare the platform to satisfy the scrutiny of insurers, partners, and customers who have every reason to be demanding

‍What we’re looking for
• 7+ years in security with deep software and cloud roots
• Hands-on experience securing production systems handling sensitive data
• Command of secure architecture, threat modelling, and modern security tooling
• Deep understanding of privacy regulation (e.g. GDPR) as it touches product security
• Ability to set a high bar pragmatically in a fast-moving team; you protect without becoming a bottleneck
• Trusted, clear, and effective in a small, in-person team

‍Nice to have
• Experience with connected hardware, IoT, or wearable device security
• Exposure to luxury, financial, or other domains where trust is the product

‍About Saef
‍Saef is building the new protection standard for luxury watches. Invisible, always-on hardware goes into the watch. A phone app tells the owner where it is and that it’s safe. We’re a small, senior team of engineers and designers that treats this as a system-level problem: hardware, software, security, and trust, all built together. We’re launching with select partners, with beta planned in 2027. We can demo a real working product at any stage of development. That’s not a tagline. It’s how we work.
