The role
The people who buy our product own watches that cost more than most people's cars. They will judge the physical product in under three seconds. As Industrial Design Engineer at Saef, you own that judgment.You drive CAD iterations end to end and make sure the product looks, feels, and finishes worthy of the watches it protects. This is a role for a designer-engineer with a strong mechanical background. Someone who cares equally about what something looks like and whether it can actually be made.

‍What you'll do
• Own and drive CAD iterations from concept to production, balancing aesthetics, manufacturability, and fit
• Develop the cosmetic and physical design to a standard that holds up next to a Rolex or AP
• Work closely with the hardware team to ensure mechanical and electrical designs converge cleanly
• Prepare designs for prototyping and, later, production; iterate from real parts, not renderings
• Protect the product's look, feel, and finish as designs move towards certification and production

‍What we're looking for
• Strong industrial design skill paired with a genuine mechanical engineering background
• Expert command of CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent)
• A portfolio showing physical products taken from concept to manufacture
• Feel for materials, finishes, and tolerances in small, premium objects
• Pragmatic, iterative, and comfortable owning quality in a small, senior team

‍Saef is building the new protection standard for luxury watches. Invisible, always-on hardware goes into the watch. A phone app tells the owner where it is and that it’s safe. We’re a small, senior team of engineers and designers that treats this as a system-level problem: hardware, software, security, and trust, all built together. We’re launching with select partners, with beta planned in 2027. We can demo a real working product at any stage of development. That’s not a tagline. It’s how we work.
