BECOME PART OF OUR TEAM

Electrical Engineer
Full-time | Hybrid | Salary €3,200 to €4,000 | near Schiphol, Netherlands

Build, test and iterate at Saef, where every millimetre matters.

The role
Saef’s product sits at the intersection of electronics, mechanics, and miniaturisation, and iterating on it demands someone who thinks across all three. As Electrical Engineer at Saef, you'll simulate, prototype, test and refine hardware across the product, bringing the creativity and hands-on instinct that make fast iteration possible. We’re looking for someone who builds things at home for fun: the kind of engineer who has a workbench, a 3D printer, and a drawer full of half-finished projects - and at least finished one.

What you'll get
Real responsibility from day one in a small, senior team
The opportunity to help shape how product development scales as the company grows
Salary from €3,200 to €4,000 (based on a full-time position)
Pension scheme
Travel expenses covered
Company laptop and phone
The role is for 32-40 hours per week

What you’ll do
Simulate, prototype, test and iterate hardware solutions, combining electrical, mechanical, and creative thinking
Run measurements, analyse results and quickly translate findings into the next iteration quickly
Sketch, model, and adapt fixture and assembly ideas in CAD to support prototyping
Chase down problems creatively; the best solution often comes from trying something nobody planned
Manage parts, samples, and test setups across your workstreams

What we’re looking for
A degree in electrical engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
Solid electronics fundamentals and genuine comfort at the bench: soldering, rework, measurement
The kind of person who makes things outside of work: hobby projects, home builds, tinkering, side experiments
Basic CAD knowledge (e.g. Altium, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or even FreeCAD); enough to model a fixture or sketch an assembly concept
Creative, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity; you try things rather than waiting for a spec
Effective in a small, in-person team where your work is immediately visible

Nice to have
Experience where electronics, acoustics, and mechanics meet
Experience with simulation tools (FEM, acoustic, or electromagnetic)
Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, or other rapid fabrication
Interest in miniaturised or unconventional hardware

About Saef
Saef is building the new protection standard for luxury watches. Invisible, always-on hardware goes into the watch. A phone app tells the owner where it is and that it’s safe. We’re a small, senior team of engineers and designers that treats this as a system-level problem: hardware, software, security, and trust, all built together. We’re launching with select partners, with beta planned in 2027. We can demo a real working product at any stage of development. That’s not a tagline. It’s how we work.
